Welcome! Thank you for taking the time to view our 2014 Annual Report. We are pleased to offer a variety of information to our community by way of this website and hope that you find the information useful and easy to read. Held within this report are statistics on crime, road safety, and use of force. Also included is a recap of our various community events and initiatives.
Last year was an exciting time for me personally, as I became the Waterloo Regional Police Service's seventh Chief of Police on August 31, 2014. It had been a life-long dream of mine to take on this role and I hold great pride in leading this remarkable organization and its talented members. We are all committed to serving the Waterloo Region community with professionalism and respect - as policing is not a job, it's a calling.
Presenting an annual report provides us with an opportunity to pause and reflect on the accomplishments of the past while building a framework for the future. As we move forward as an organization and as a community, it is important to have these milestones and snapshots in time in order to know where we have been, where we are going, and how we got to where we are today.
As you peruse this website, I invite you to do some reflection of your own and celebrate the many successes and challenges of 2014. As a bustling society, it isn't often that we take the time to look back, and we thank you for taking a moment with us to visit this site and review our annual report.
