The Waterloo Regional Police Service is committed to a leadership role in community safety and well-being through crime prevention, law enforcement and assistance to victims.

Key issues and priorities:

  • Pursuing opportunities for organizational growth through new creative and cost effective thinking.
  • To recognize and promote our police service, benefits from partnerships, relationships maintenance, legal and consulting fees,and collaboration.
  • To achieve a safer community by developing, promoting and evaluating crime prevention, law enforcement and community programs.
  • To develop human resources and systems in order to ensure the availability of competent and qualified staff representative of the community.
  • Creation of a Staffing and Facilities Master Plan to be presented as part of the 2016 budget process.

  • Responding to and implementing legislated and mandated operational processes such as Next Generation (NG) 911 and use of force options.
